Leonardo Capalbo to Make Opera Hong Kong Debut in Cavalleria Rusticana & Pagliacci
American tenor Leonardo Capalbo will make his debut at Opera Hong Kong this October, appearing as Turiddu in Mascagni’s Cavalleria Rusticana and making his first performance as Canio in Leoncavallo’s Pagliacci.
The two verismo masterpieces will be presented as a double bill at the Grand Theatre of the Hong Kong Cultural Centre from October 8–11, 2026.
The engagement marks two important milestones in Capalbo’s career: his first performances in Hong Kong and his debut in the demanding role of Canio, one of the defining tenor roles of the Italian repertoire.
Known for his compelling stage presence and performances across the international opera stage, Capalbo continues to expand his repertoire with these two iconic works of Italian verismo.
