New Production of Rigoletto at Royal Swedish Opera

Leonardo Capalbo stars in a new production of Rigoletto at the Royal Swedish Opera opening November 24th.

Maestro Lionel Bringuier leads the production by Sofia Jupither. Rigoletto also stars Karl-Magnus Fredriksson and Ida Falk Winland.

Capalbo returns to the Royal Swedish Opera following his debut as Gustavo in Verdi’s Un ballo in maschera. Of that performance Backtrack praised Capalbo's voice for “his rich, round tenor." They also noted “his middle and lower registers were very powerful and warm, giving depth and intensity to his singing.”

Verdi roles comprise a majority of Capalbo’s current and future repertoire. In 2019 he will debut both the four-act Italian and five-act French versions of Don Carlos.

Performances of Rigoletto run through February 11, 2019 at the Royal Swedish Opera. A live cinema broadcast on December 1st will relay to more than 50 cinemas throughout Sweden.
